Our EPDM Sponge Rubber Profiles are precision-engineered closed-cell flexible sealing components manufactured by Hebei Shida Seal Group, fully compliant with the QC/T 639-2004 industry standard for automotive rubber weatherstrips. Manufactured through our controlled continuous vulcanization extrusion process, our EPDM sponge profiles feature uniform closed cell structures, no open-cell leakage paths, and a smooth non-sticky surface that avoids dust accumulation during long-term use. These products excel at water, draught and dust sealing, as well as sound and thermal insulation and energy absorbance. They are widely adopted in automotive sealing systems, building weatherstripping, industrial equipment gap sealing and new energy facility protection scenarios, providing stable performance even in frequent opening and closing, high vibration, and long-term outdoor exposure conditions.
Material
All our sponge rubber profiles are produced from high-grade EPDM sponge rubber that strictly meets all property requirements specified in QC/T 639-2004 for automotive EPDM rubber weatherstrips. We use specially formulated compound systems optimized for foam structure stability, with base EPDM raw materials selected for excellent chemical stability and anti-aging properties, supplemented with environmentally friendly foaming agents and anti-aging additives to ensure uniform cell size, no collapse or shrinkage, and long service life of the final sponge products.
Material Features
- Outstanding Flexible Sealing Performance – The soft sponge structure creates a tight seal even on uneven mating surfaces with very low closure force, effectively reducing the operation force of doors, windows and access hatches while eliminating hard contact collision noise.
- Wide Temperature Adaptability – With excellent low temperature flexibility and high temperature resistance, the standard operating temperature range is from -40°C to 120°C, and can withstand intermittent peak temperature up to 100°C for long-term stable use in cold northern regions and high temperature summer environments.
- Premium Environmental Aging Resistance – Inheriting the core performance advantages of EPDM materials, our sponge profiles have excellent ozone resistance and UV light aging resistance, which effectively prevents surface cracking, powdering and performance degradation even after many years of outdoor exposure, no fading, no hardening.
- Lightweight and High Energy Absorption – Low density characteristics give the material excellent impact cushioning and energy absorption performance, which can effectively absorb vibration and collision forces, playing a good role in protecting adjacent components.
- Excellent Insulation Performance – The uniform closed cell structure effectively blocks air and heat transmission, providing superior sound insulation and thermal insulation effects, helping to reduce equipment operation noise and improve building or vehicle energy efficiency.
- Chemical and Corrosion Resistance – Chemically stable EPDM base material provides good resistance to common acids, alkalis, salt solutions and weak polar chemicals, suitable for use in humid, coastal and lightly corrosive working environments.
- Optional Self-Adhesive Design – Profiles can be fitted with high-strength hot melt adhesive backing for easy, no-drilling installation, suitable for quick on-site construction scenarios.
