EPDM Sponge rubber cord we offer are characterized by its closed cavities (pores). Hence the name microporous rubber. Sponge rubber is airtight and soaks up little water. It’s closed cell nature doesn’t allow ingress of fluids, dust or air to go through or into it. These properties of sponge rubber cord are the prerequisites for the effective use of this type of seal. It offers simple but watertight seal for many applications.
EPDM Sponge rubber cord is resistant to weathering, aging, UV, ozone, and oxidationand some chemical substances. Basically sponge rubber cords can be used within the temperature range of the base elastomeric material they are made of. Sponge rubber usually achieves a hardness of 20 – 30 Shore A.
The EPDM Sponge rubber cords are easy to fit, this EPDM sponge cord offers high compression characteristics that make it ideal for sealing small gaps or voids. It’s suitable in both indoor as well as outdoor environments in different applications. It is soft and compressible and can be supplied in coils, cut lengths or vulcanised into o-rings. We offer hollow and solid sponge rubber cord from various materials as EPDM, Silicone, etc. It can be made in english as well as metric diameter as per your requirements.

Materials Features
- EPDM is water resistant, and can stand up to harsh weather conditions such as sleet and snow.
- EPDM has excellent resistance to abrasions and tears and ability to stand up to the degrading effects of weathering, ozone and UV ray exposure.
- EPDM also offers good electrical resistance. Its chemical properties make it especially suitable for electrical insulation and gaskets.
- EPDM resists polar solvents, and not just water, but also acids, alkalies, and phosphate esters.
- EDPM does a great job of withstanding steam and low and high temperatures
- EPDM has a low compression set, so it won’t lose much resilience over prolonged pressure.
