- D-SHAPE: The rounded part of this EPDM sponge rubber profile (EC12-013-NMT1) provides sealing under pressure, such as when a door is closed. The flat part of the D-shape attaches with a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape instead of fasteners.
- MEDIUM-DENSITY: This sponge rubber profile has a cellular structure and a medium density, or durometer, that provides the right amount of compression for reliable sealing.
- WEATHER RESISTANT: EPDM rubber resists sunlight, oxygen, ozone, water, weather, and outdoor temperatures. It has a good combination of thermal and mechanical properties and is suitable for indoor or outdoor use.
- ENDLESS APPLICATIONS: D-shapes are great for sealing the gap between a long piece of metal and another surface, such as the edge of a door. They fill the gaps along the length of the metal and withstand pressure points where compression is greater because the gap is narrower.
- EASY-TO-INSTALL: Taped gaskets like this D-seal (EC12-013-NMT1) support peel-and-stick installation and are suitable for environments without high heat, corrosive chemicals, or excessive abrasion. D-shapes are one of the most common types of extruded rubber seals.
